FINALLY...

Guess what I was able to sneak away & do today.....

I got to take a Copic Marker Class ... actually 2 of them! I can't even begin to tell you all how happy this made me :) I have loved these markers ever since I first saw what they could do... and I have played around w/ them for a little while, using them all based on what I've watched on Youtube. Well nowthat I have been "officially" taught how to use them... my mind is going a million miles an hour with excitement, and all I want to do is to color :)

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! And she is just adorable, and oh so friendly! I had the best day ever!

I will be sure to post a few pictures on here (hopefully soon) of what I learned today.

I am jumping for joy inside & full of happiness... things have been a little stressful lately, and today was exactly what I needed! Thanks Jennie :)

Where I've been...

Well looking back.... I can't believe how "worry free" I was on May 6th... making cupcakes and enjoying our new baby girl.

On June 3rd, 2010 our world was turned upside down... our 6 month old new baby girl had a surgery on June 2nd to remove what we thought was a simple cyst under her arm.. but on Thursday the 3rd, I got the phone call stating our baby had cancer, it was Neuroblastoma. At first we were told that based on the location of the tumor, it was stage 4.... I can't even put into words the way I felt hearing that, it still puts my stomach in knots just typing it. Over the next couple of weeks, our little baby girl was put through a number of tests to aid in the "staging" of her cancer- she had a CT Scan, Bone Scan, MIBG Scan and a bone marrow aspiration, all more than any 6 month old should EVER have to go through. I am so very thankful, and eternally grateful for the the results that we received... all of the scans came back Negative (NO evidence of disease) and she was then considered to be stage 1. We go for MRI scans every 4 months now, and will continue to do so for a few years, to make sure the cancer does not return. October marked her first "surveillance" scan, which, Thank GOD came back clear (NED), and February 1st she'll have her second MRI scan as well as another Bone Scan, again to make sure she is still cancer free.

So that is what I've been up to... my craft desk has such a thick layer of dust... (lol) I'm not sure when I'll have a spare moment to dig out my crafts :) I did make sure that I made her 1st birthday invitations... Once I find the pictures of them I'll try to remember to post them. I finally had a chance to make another card using my Copics... it was for Addison's little friend's 1st birthday, I hope she liked it... I really like how it turned out, but realized I never took a picture of the entire card LOL

If you are reading this...I thank you for not giving up on me... I really do miss playing w/ paper... I just need to make better use of my time I guess.

Here we are at home on her actual birthday, 12-12-10. As a child we had a red plate just like that, and on special occasions we got to eat off of it, so I thought I'd carry on that tradition.She didn't even cry on Santa's lap... she didn't smile either though lol
Christimas Morning she loved opening presents, and loved eating the paper just as much!
For those of you with children, hug them all a little tighter, and don't take anything for granted...

Just suuupppper busy these days! I have a card I made using my Copics, that I need to post, but I need to send it out to the recipient first, so that she doesn't see it on here first, before it arrives in her mailbox.... so hopefully I'll be getting to that soon.

I do have this pic to share, of some cupcakes I made a month or so ago for my co-workers, they were really fun to make & were a hit.

I hope all of you who may still be checking back here at my abandoned blog are doing well :)

So I finally broke down after watching a bazillion You Tube videos... and bought a few COPIC markers! I am sooo excited to use them! I can't even believe how much better colored images look when they have that added detail of shading..... it is like night & day to me. I went to one of two places that sells them here in Las Vegas, and purchased the ones shown below... even though they were $5.99 ea. :( and then I came home & watched a few more of Amy's videos and made note of the colors she was using... and then I ordered 17 more online... lol... but in my defense, they were only $4.89 ea. :)
If you are interested in learning about these markers... I highly recommend you check out Amy's blog & all of her Copic Videos, they were SUPER helpful.

Although it appears that I haven't really been crafting over this last wow... year or so (from the looks of my blog) I really have... I just never got around to posting anything... so I thought I'd go through & gradually post the projects & cards I've done over this last year. I can't believe how fast my whole pregnancy went... and that it's already 2010. I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year so far :)

I saw this idea on Kerry's blog... she is simply amazing, you really should check out her work. I thank you Kerry for your idea...everyone loved these little guys :) Again another treat I made for my co-workers... I must really like these ladies ;)
I was asked to create the invitations for our work Christmas party this year... these puppies were quite a bit of work, as I embossed all of the white snowflakes so that they would really pop on the craft cardstock. After I finished them, I was then asked to make them for another department at work, so I ended up making a whole other set, but they were done in red and white, which surprisingly looked really sharp. All of these were done just weeks before my due date by the way ;) I can't believe I actually got them done.I know we're a little out of order on here... but oh well ;) Here are some goodies I made for my co-workers for Halloween.I was lucky enough to have a friend at work who was pregnant at the same time, she was 2 months ahead of me... and so we had a "joint" baby shower at work... and these are the invitations her & I did for the shower...
For the shower I made my pretzels and decided they needed a little "thank you" tag on them.
And here is what my dog thought of them.... lol...

I am not sure why this picture uploaded sideways... it was not originally like that? Do any of you know how to fix this? anyhow.... here are the thank you's I made for my work shower...Hopefully I'll have time to be a little more "current" on my blog in 2010... but then again, I have a new baby... so maybe not LOL.

Our little baby Addison arrived on Saturday, December 12th at 9:54 p.m. She weighs 8 lbs. & is 20" long. We couldn't be happier....now she just needs to get old enough to play with all my paper-crafting supplies with me ;)

What we've been up to...

Hello... just thought I'd post a few (quite a few actually) pictures of what we've been up to lately in preparing for our new arrival...

First we had to move Kitty's litter box to a new location, it was previously in the 3rd bedroom, so we decided to install her a "secret door" into her new restroom ;) Here are a few pics of my wonderful Husband in action... notice his sidekick Eddy... always has to be where the action is... well once the noise of the power tools had stopped ...
Next was onto painting the nursery... when we picked the paint we weren't sure whether we were having a boy or a girl... and we ended up going with a really pretty blue/green color... it really isn't super blue.. the pictures don't really show it's true color... but oh well-

We learned the hard way that Eddy needed to be banned from this project... we had the wooden stir stick still in the gallon of paint, and he decided to pull it out, and walk away... meanwhile dragging paint across the plastic and onto the carpet... :( We should have known... lol
AFTER:
Eddy was sure happy to get back into the room for the final inspection...
Next came the furniture... again my awesome husband saved the day and put together the crib & dresser, I actually assembled the changing table... it was a fun challenge.
Here it is all put together...
By this point in our adventure... we now knew we were having a little girl, Addison Marybell, so we decided on this adorable Cherry Blossom Tree .... boy was that a headache to install... I started out telling Jason I just needed his help with the initial placement of the image, and I would have it handled from there... YEAH RIGHT!!!! he ended up saving the day AGAIN.... and we eventually finished it...
Here is the finished product.... We hope she likes it :)
We go on Tuesday for the 3-D/4-D ultrasound... we are both really excited to see her cute little face... I'll probably post a few pictures once we get them.

Yes, this is probably the best excuse I've posted yet....

Yes we are expecting our first baby on December 13th! These were done at around 11.5 weeks... so our little baby is already quite a bit larger, as I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow.

Between the nausea and tiredness... my craft desk (unfortunately) has been the VERY last place I've been in the last two and half months. I still have a ton of pics to post of work I did months ago... including all the projects I did for my sisters baby shower in March. Hopefully I'll get around to posting those some time soon. I hope all of you are doing great... I really miss chatting w/ you!

A New Addition to our Family...

Today we brought home "Eddy" he is our new baby we adopted yesterday at the shelter. Eddy is 1 year old. We had to wait until he was neutered before we could bring him home. So as I type this, he is laying next to me recovering. We don't think the cat has realized he has invaded her space quite yet, but we feel it will happen soon enough. Eddy has the sweetest temperament, he seems like a really great dog already... we shall see :)

Well I can't even believe it has nearly been a year since I discovered the incredible world of "blogging." March 9th will be my one year anniversary of my blog and I have met so many wonderful papercrafters/friends in that time. All the super nice comments.. who doesn't love those? :) I know I haven't been posting nearly like I used to lately.. I really do miss staying up to date with everyone.. and playing along w/ Kristina Werners Color Challenges.. afterall that is where I have met my very best blog buddies ;) Hopefully this next year I will be able to find more time to post my creations... but in the mean time, I felt that it was only appropriate to celebrate this anniversary with my very first Blog Candy!

I used a new border punch I got at Michaels that is made by Martha Stewart, isn't it adorable... those little hearts it punches out are teeny tiny!I've been busy making baby shower invitations & party favors for a shower my sister & I are throwing for our other sister in March, I'll be sure to post pics of that stuff once I am done.

I've been a little busy lately, so I have completely neglected my blog... so sorry :(

Here it is Christmas Eve, all the snow has melted here in Las Vegas... as crazy as that sounds we did get quite a measurable amount of snow on the ground last week. Too bad it isn't still here...

Let me introduce you to my new BFF! I love this MONSTER! I quickly got over it's Ginormous size, and I can't believe I went so long without it. Thanks to Kerry for all the great info she gave me about why she loved hers, and then she was kind enough to post it on her blog for everyone else too... check it out if you're contemplating buying this beauty. I just had to put my little glue next to it so you could really get a feel for it's Ginormousness... I know that is a real word by the way, but I'm just not sure I spelled it right, oh well.

So GREAT NEWS... as an early xmas present, my SUPER Awesome Husband is buying me a new crafting desk... I AM SO EXCITED! I have been searching, and searching, and googling for what seems like FOREVER for the perfect desk, and I have finally found it! Thanks to IKEA.. I'll post more later about it, and I'll be sure to do some before & after pics too! Woooo Hoooo I am soooo excited! I can't wait. I'll be picking it up in AZ when I go there for Thanksgiving, because the drawback of ordering a heavy piece of furniture is the fact that the shipping was going to be over $200 bucks!! aka Highway Robbery! so my Wonderful Mom is going to commute down to Tempe to pick it up for me... and I'll pick it up from her when I am down there this week! Yippy! (Can you tell I'm excited)

Wow, the last 29 days have really flown by ;) I can't believe I've gone that long w/out posting, at least something... well I've been a little pre-occupied w/ a few family matters, as well as being re-connected with one of my best friends all the way back from elementary school. Wow what a blast that has been taking a trip down memory lane. Hi Beth!

Anyhow just thought I'd share a few cards... I have actually been busy making cards... and I even purchased an ATG gun, and I love it. I definitely recommend getting one.

So this is a Birthday card I made for a long time friend, it was her birthday last month.. I hope she liked it as much as I loved the way it turned out. I just love that stamp set.

And I've been really hooked on the Hero Arts blog lately, especially Jennifer McGuire . Her work is really amazing, and she does really great videos. Anyhow, they use a lot of these rhinestones over on both blogs... so I was inspired to add a little sparkle to these cupcakes, I think these made perfect cherries :)

Last month we went to our good friends Tom & Holly's annual Halloween party, which was a blast. Jason & I were party poopers and didn't dress up, but we still had a blast. I made this card for their little girl Morgan. She is just the sweetest, most polite little girl you'll ever meet. She was so cute when I gave it to her, she was very thankful and genuine.... it's times like those that I look forward to having a little girl of my own one day ;)

Ok, I will be sure to post my other cards I've made, I just have to get them off my camera still... who knows how long that may take LOL.

So a few weeks back when I went to the Rubber Stamp & Scrapbook Expo (which was very disappointing by the way) I came across this Adorable monkey stamp and just fell in love with it... I laugh every time I look at it... so here are a few cards I made with it a few weeks ago:
My Mom's birthday was Sunday so I made her this card...
There is a blog I have been ADDICTED to ever since I first heard about it back in April or May of this year, You'll have to check it out to understand this card... but I'm telling you, once you do- you too will be addicted to Matt's Blog, he is an absolutely AMAZING Father to his adorable baby girl Madeline, I look forward to getting future parenting advise from this great guy... He is also an amazing writer & photographer too... you should check it out.

I made this card after watching Donna's Awesome video Tutorial on her Blog a few weeks back as well... Thanks Donna for the great tips :)
I had bought this stamp at my local Big Lots for $2.00 a while back, because I thought it was cute... but wasn't ever really sure when I'd use it... so I tried it out.
These two cards were made for a friend and she asked for one to be purple, and one was going to be for a nurse... so I did my best what do you think?
And lastly, this is just a card I made just because... I really loved these papers the picture doesn't show their true colors... they really look nice together.
Ok, I hope everyone's week is off to a better start than mine, I tell you- being out sick for one day can really screw up your whole week! :( Sometimes I think it would be better to just go in feeling miserable instead of having to play catch up when you return! Hopefully Friday will get here soon!!!

So I signed up for the "scrapbook rewards visa" a while ago and I probably used it WAYYYY more than I should have... but hey look at my awesome rewards I was finally able to cash in! I won't mention how much I had to use my visa in order to get enough points to pick these items.. ;) I'll just show you my goodies that were waiting for me on my doorstep when I got home tonight :)
I've made a few cards over the last couple of weeks... I just need to get them off my camera...then I'll post them.
Don't forget to check out the latest masterpiece from PaperCrafts, CARD CREATIONS vol. 6, it is supposed to be out today... I have a card published in there... I haven't seen it yet... but of course I am dying to see it! :)

Halloween!!

Ever since I saw the "BOO" letters Kerry had altered over at her blog, I have been thinking about doing a set of my own... So over the weekend I picked up these letters at JoAnns, and I just finished them so I figured I would post them before I headed off to bed.
I made my caramel all shiny.. but it looks better in person...The lighting is terrible... I need to take another picture of them in the daylight.

Another project I just finished I saw over at another blog I follow, Chic n'Scratch, Angie made these a few days/weeks ago she has a great tutorial on her blog w/ all the measurements as well..

Super Cute... it holds a mini Kit Kat or a mini Hersheys bar.Thanks for the inspiration Ladies :)

I can't believe I am actually getting time to post two days in a row. :) As I mentioned I have been busy... so I figured I'd post a few of the cards I made when Jenny & I got together a few weeks ago... trying to get a jump start on xmas!
On this one I used the shrinky dink stuff again, man I love that stuff it is like a flash back to my childhood except now I don't have to wait for the oven ;)

Wow, seems like I just posted my last post, but pathetically it has been 12 days ago :( what a bad blogger I have been... and I have even been pretty productive.. so it isn't a matter of nothing to post... oh well.

Here is a card I made for a friend, she needed a wedding card, and I reverted back to my trusty American Crafts "wedding-ish" paper. If you've been following my blog for a while, you may recognize this paper as it is the same paper I used for the wedding card I made that is being published in the next Paper Crafts "Card Creations Volume 6" which comes out in early October. I can't wait to see it. Anyhow, I really loved how this card turned out, the picture in my opinion doesn't do it justice, the ribbon was black velvet, and the embossing turned out so nice, and the card was actually quite layered... I tried to get a decent picture of it before I gave it to her. Also, I lined my first envelope, it was pretty easy getting it the right shape, but getting it adhered in there was a little difficult, I'll have to practice a little before I try that again :)

A few words...

I know it's a little late but it's my thought that counts...

A day like today is one filled with emotions, just hearing this song brings tears to my eyes... I remember being 6 or 7 years old learning it in music class in the 1st grade... and all my life I have know this song, and after Sept. 11, 2001, this song now brings back an entirely different set of memories.
I wanted to take the chance to say Thank you to all those who serve our country in one way or another. And thank you to the families who support those who serve. I wish I could personally thank each and every Soldier, every Police Officer and every Fireman... but even to say thank you would never be enough.

My thoughts are with the families of all of those who lost their lives 7 years ago.

Been busy this weekend :)

Well I didn't really do much this weekend... and I needed that! I did have time to make a few things though, here they are..

I just loved this little guy when I saw him at Michaels, and he was only .99 cents... so even better!
As you can see in the second photo, the candies were stamped onto the shrinky dink stuff, then I colored them, cut them out.. and then shrunk them :) I later found out I colored my candy corns wrong... I can never remember whether or not the bottom is orange or yellow ! DANG it! oh well

These little cats are Rub-ons from K&Co., I loved how they turned out.. even though they are supposed to be scary black halloween cats, I made them in love .. LOL
I am always checking out Angies blog Chic 'n' Scratch and I finally tried to do one of her super cute clipboards, I ordered these rectangular coasters from her... and then I also decided to make the matching "picture" holder thingy.. I have been hoarding this paper, and not wanting to use if forever, but I finally decided that it would make a nice color combo for a clipboard.

I used liquid applique to make my little sheep fluffy :) he looks so soft!Here I used that clear liquid Diamond Glaze for the fish bowl, you can't really see it all that great in the photo... it looks really neat IRL.

Ok... I saved this for last because this caused me LOTS of grief! I bought this cute little kit at Big Lots, and who can beat $2.50 right? so I start out and decide to use my super hoarded DS paper from SU. Well after a few HOURS of heartache, I had to throw away the main body that this kit came with, see the problem I had was that the SU DS paper was too thick, so it wasn't bending right at the joints, even after I tried to score all the joints, it was basically supposed to be the same as what my piece turned out to be, minus the ribbon and hinges(eyelets) on the back, it was all one piece of scored chipboard... and I obviously DO NOT have the experience nor talent to cover something in that manner :) So anyhow, this project which felt like it took 18 hours to complete, finally came together and I decided to make it for my dear friend Robin. The name plate on the front is actually the "well worn alphabet" set from SU, and I just did it on the shrinky dink stuff again, that stuff is so much fun... but the larger the piece you are trying to shrink, the more difficult it is to keep it from sticking to itself, since it tends to roll as you heat it up. Maybe I am doing something wrong... so if you know the secret to it not rolling up and sticking to itself, please let me know.

One of my best friends Diana is about to turn 24 so I made her this card... Diana is one of my "all nighter" scrappin buddies I've talked about in past posts :) We'll miss you on the 12th Diana :(

So Happy Birthday Diana!!

We LOVE to hit up Big Lots! for all their great scrappin supplies... so I thought I'd get her a GC to Big Lots!. I saw the gift card holder on Kerin's blog a while back... and I discovered her through another blog buddie of mine, Donna... you should check out her blog... she is just the sweetest blog buddie ever!
So anyhow, I ended up making the card a little larger so that the cute little owl could fit on the front.

I was upset because I still haven't gotten my copy since I'm being published in it this month... so I went all the way across town to the only scrapbook store that had them out already... and I am super excited!! This was my first "altered" notebook I've tried... I really like how it turned out... It's for my Mom's husband Barry... the only real Cowboy I've ever met. Unfortunately they will probably see it here first... I am so bad about getting to the post office :( Sorry guys!

I made this card with all the new "IN COLORS" and I really like how it turned out...when I first started w/ Stampin' Up, I'll admit, I have way too much paper already & I told myself I wasn't going to buy the cardstock just because it coordinated... well let me tell you how AWESOME it was to have the EXACT match on the paper.. really makes it TONS easier... so SU just found itself another paper customer :) Don't knock it til you try it I guess? Oh well...
A few more xmas cards... I have been playing w/ my cuttlebug.. since I just "had to have it" once my MIL Effie showed me it's awesomeness a while back...

This one is using my favorite thing in the world... "thickers"... don't really like how it turned out though-

Yet another great weekend... not doing much. Jason(husband) has been on call for the past two weekends... which means we can't do a whole lot... which is fine with me..... MORE card time :)

I have been pretty productive this weekend... here is what I have done so far:

This is a card my mom requested I make- for one of her friends who just had a baby... I really like how it turned out.. but a little time consuming w/ all the measuring of the circles & the placement & such... but well worth the trouble I guess.

This was another "first" for me.. I tried the "rocking" technique- I think thats what it's called... when you use two colors of ink on the same image the darker of the two mainly on the outer edges? Anyhow, I really LOVED how that turned out.

I bought this Breast Cancer Set set a few months ago but haven't used it yet... a lot like the majority of my supplies ;) (Oh well) I had fun with this one... but had to color it w/ my prismacolor pencils because I just discovered I don't have a real PINKY pink marker... VERY frustrating.. and then I thought I'd use my new ink pad from the New in colors... Yeah... NO, that isn't very pink either(even though the paper totally is?). So after I was all done & putting away my ink pads... I found that I DO HAVE Pretty In Pink... and I didn't even know it ... (I'm pathetic) oh well theres always next time I guess.

So my sister found out she is having another baby ... and she is very excited to find out the sex of the baby... as she has two little girls now. I do believe she has about two or three weeks until she finds out if it is a boy or a girl... so I thought I'd make her a card. I learned how to make this spinner card from DAWN, her blog is AMAZING... and she is always updating it w/ new projects & great video tutorials... I check her blog out every day, and you should too! As if I didn't have enough to keep me busy... I just had to get the new "in" colors! I also got the level 3 (I think) hostess set thru the preview... and let me just tell you how much I completely LOVE those rub-ons!!!!! Dang it... why can't they just sell these rub ons by themselves.
And can you believe (for those of you who have seen it..) that they are finally making this awesome scallop punch!!! it works really great too :)

Ok so here goes nothing...

This seems like it is going to be hard... we'll see:

1. Most people would prefer an authentic restaurant (ex: Mexican food or Chinese Food)... NOT me... I prefer Taco Bell over an authentic Mexican Restaurant anyday! Same goes with Chinese Food... Panda Express here I come :)

2. My very first job was at a craft store when I was just 16, I wanted to work there so badly, I can remember my mom taking me there prior to my 16th birthday & trying to talk the asst.manager into letting me work there even though I wasn't even legally able LOL. Anyhow I finally turned 16 and had an interview on my lunch break and got the job... WOO HOO.. what an awesome birthday. The store was a Ben Franklin Crafts in Prescott, AZ, it was the greatest craft store EVER... I say "was" because big bad Michaels came to town & put them out of business... jerks :) Anyhow I worked there for 2 1/2 years before I moved to Las Vegas.

3.Until I was introduced into the "blogging world" in February I wasn't very "productive" in my crafting... I would occasionally make a card... or scrapbook a page or two.. only generally when my scrappin buddies & I would get together, but other than that, I considered myself a professional "purchaser" of supplies. :) I LOVE to buy scrapbooking/cardmaking SUPPLIES... then I LOVE to organize them... sounds weird but thats me. Anyhow, since February I have been very productive and now my friends & my sister can't give me a hard time about shopping for these supplies since I am actually using them now. (I probably do have enough supplies to last the rest of my life though)

4. Of Four siblings I am the ONLY one with Red Hair... Milk Man? LOL Just kidding mom.

5. I have a crush on my dentist... :) Hope he never reads this LOL.. He is an AWESOME dentist though... seriously! I used to be scared to death - Not so much anymore ;)

6. The one "semi- Authentic" Chinese restaurant we do go to... I order "Kung Pao Chicken with NO CHICKEN".... they laugh at me every time... and then look at me like I'm crazy when they realize I am serious. I don't really like meat.

7.I am completely terrified of SNAKES... or even any animal that resembles a snake... ex: eel... I don't even like Ferrets because the kind of move like a snake.

Ok, now you know how truly weird I am... Oh well :)

Theresa's Challenge #13 - Use that paper you've been hanging on to!

OK... so as you all know I just LOVE Theresa's Challenges.. she always gets my brain going.. Well this one she REALLY did.. her challenge was to make as many cards as you could out of ONE piece of patterned paper that you've been hanging onto- because you just love it so much.... Well here is what I made out of ONE, literally just ONE 12x12 piece of Doodlebug paper that I just LOVE. (I even took a picture of the "scraps" I have left.. not much)

I wanted to start by thanking those of you who answered my "cry for help" re: storage of my ink pads.... I checked out your suggestions and now I can't make up my mind because I can see different things I love about all of them. But thank you for taking the time to answer me.

In regards to my wedding card from Theresa's challenge... the stamp is made by Inkadinkado, and it is called: Wedding/Marriage and it is actually a clear set. I love that set.
I know I should post my "ingredients" on my cards ... but to be honest I am lazy.

I need your help... Being that I just got into buying from STAMPIN' UP! I have quickly realized I definitely need to purchase some sort of a stamp pad stand/rack and SOON.. I have a hard time with the fact that the pads will not stack nicely on each other... so I NEED your help with this...

Will you please post a comment and let me know what YOU use to store your stamp pads... I only have 6 pads as of today... but that will definitely be changing and soon... so ANY suggestions will help... I have looked at the one that is sold in the SU catalog and I am considering that one ... but before I make that purchase I just wanted to get your opinions first... I really appreciate your help!

Here are just a few cards I've made these past few days... nothing too exciting.. I am still working on that. ;) As you may notice I did try "huffing" on my 2nd card... I hadn't ever tried that before.. and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it really does work!!

June 18th, 2000 -I became an Aunt for the first time... to my awesome Niece Trinity! Tomorrow/Today (whenever you are reading this) is her 8th birthday! How exciting it must be to be turning 8! At just 8 years old Trinity has already been looped into the "paper-crafting world" thanks to her Mother & myself :) So for her birthday her & I went out last Saturday on a paper-crafting shopping spree for her birthday... we had a great time, and then finished it off at the Olive Garden where I was super impressed as I don't know many 8 year olds who would choose Broccoli over French Fries... and she did (and her mom wasn't even around).... what a great kid!

So in honor of Trinity... I made her this little birthday card~

Hello... So very sorry I have been such a slacker lately... I have been trying to get to the computer to post these.. but something always distracts me. I made these cards a few weeks ago now :( and then of course the graduation card was my LAST graduation card for the season for Jason's little sister Lindsey.

I took this picture of all of my new goodies.... this will probably be a great reference point for how out of control I will get with buying from SU in the future :) but thats ok. I have this cabinet in my den/craft area but always had it full of other misc. "stuff" but when I looked at my two ginormous boxes labeled Stampin' UP! sitting in my living room... I knew I had to find them a home. So I spent all day Friday cleaning & re-organizing my area. I am sure this cabinet will be busting at the seams soon.. and then I will have to figure something else out but oh well.

Ok, so I feel like it has been a million years since I was last able to sit down & be creative. We have been traveling all over the last few weeks as it seems EVERYONE is graduating this year. We first went to Indiana where Jason's Mom had her College graduation, and then next it was off to my home town Prescott, AZ... for my littlest sister Kelsey's graduation, and then this last weekend, we were in Salt Lake City for Jason's littlest sister Lindsey's graduation. I think we are done for a while... but we can't forget about Jason--- He just received his Bachelors Degree in February.. WOO HOO to Jason!! I am so very proud of him... and SO excited for him, NO MORE LONG NIGHTS on the computer writing papers ... well at least for now anyhow. :)

Anyhow, tomorrow is my Friday... so I'll hopefully get some time to be creative this weekend!

I will be back soon... with Pictures next time. I did make a few cards before we left... but I never posted them... I will be sure to post those as well.

Here is another money card I made for my little sister, she will be graduating this Friday! Yeah Kelsey!!! Hope she likes it.

I got to use a few of my new SU stamps on one of the other cards which was tons of fun & I'm loving using all the new ink colors... especially Chocolate Chip, can you tell. And can I just say I LOVE MY STAMPIN' SCRUB... where has it been all my life. I wanted to burn my box of baby wipes... I always hated cleaning my stamps w/ the baby wipes... they reeked!! and now I won't ever have to use them again thanks to my new best friend the STAMPIN' SCRUB

The PICTURE BELOW WILL NO POST in the correct position... I took it just like the others... but BLOGGER wants it to appear this way apparently... so after a LOT of frustration... I don't care & it is going to be posted sideways... sorry for the neck ache you may get for having to turn you neck to view it!

Just felt like making Halloween Cards this week... after all those baby cards it was time for a change in pace....

So my Stampin' UP!Boxes arrived today... all 34 pounds of them! I mounted 5 sets tonight.. only one more to mount... I was tired, so I called it quits... I am so excited to get started playing with all my new goodies... I just have to figure out where the heck I am going to put all my new treasures... so for the night, they will remain downstairs in their safe little box... :( Never thought that would happen. I guess that may be a sign of getting older... when you don't BUST OUT your new toys & PLAY with them RIGHT AWAY... instead Adulthood gets in the way! bah humbug! Anyhow, there is always tomorrow :) Hope you are all having a great week... hope you feel better Theresa!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...it feels like forever! My mom came into town last weekend so I wasn't very "card productive" while she was in town... so I am back at it.. I felt the need to post today even though the recipients of these cards may see these prior to actually receiving them... if so, I am sorry. We are going out of town this weekend, I know "am I crazy" it is NATIONAL SCRAPOOKING DAY this weekend, and so much is going on... but I'll have to miss it as we are going to Jason's moms College Graduation! We will be in Indiana, which will be a first for me, so that should be fun. I won't be back until late Sunday... so this will probably be my last post until then... :( not even participating in Kristina's Challenge this week :( Oh well, maybe next week's challenge... and hopefully I will be back in time for Theresa's next challege! :)

So I recently submitted a few of my cards to a few select magazines, and if you've read my previous posts, you'll know that one of my cards will be in the PaperCrafts "Card Creations Vol. 6" in September. Well I also submitted a few to CARDS magazine, & I just got word today that my "You are Fabulous" card will be published in the September issue of CARDS magazine!!! I am beyond words... I just want to thank Theresa - as it was her Challenge that inspired this card.... so THANK YOU Theresa, for your encouragement & for hosting such great challenges! And the AWESOME blog candy is GREAT too! :) ~ you are truly the greatest!

I went shopping tonight at my local scrapbook store & picked up some great new papers, JUST WHAT I DON'T NEED... I have enough paper to probably wrap the world in... LOL... just a little exaggeration... but REALLY paper is the LAST thing I should be buying. But I just can't help it. I will be sure to post whatever I come up with.

I just wanted to share my INCREDIBLE news.... I just received an email today regarding one of my cards I submitted to Papercrafts, THEY ACCEPTED IT!!! for the Card Creations Volume 6, which comes out this fall (or late summer)... I am PSYCHED!! So I had to remove it from my blog :( sorry! But you'll be able to see it soon..

Thank you all for your encouraging words... It keeps me motivated & my creative juices flowing!!! So thanks for your support!

Very Productive Weekend (so far) -

So I got together w/ my girlfriends Jenny & Diana yesterday, we started at about 10-ish yesterday morning, and finished up at 2AM... yes... we were up until 2- not completely all there... and by the 15th hour... we were just giggles... everything was funny... and nothing made sense. LOL... I think it may have been the combination of Diet Coke, rice crispy treats, m&m's and jellybeans... Food of Papercrafting Champions!!!

Anyhow, we all had a pretty productive night- for the most part.... Here are the cards I made!

Just thought I'd also throw this picture in there, I was taking pics this morning of my cards & of course Kitty just had to get in the shot, she wanted another appearance on my blog... LOL....

I often (daily) visit another great blog - http://addictedtostampsandscraps.blogspot.com (sorry still don't know how to do the link thing- it just won't work?) anyhow, so I visit this blog, it belongs to Theresa, she does amazing work as well, and this week she has done a card Challenge. Below is the ribbon it is based on... I don't think I chose the right red... but oh well.

So I haven't been able to find a good "solution" to how to store my paper punches... and I must have seen this somewhere, I can't recall, but I went out & bought an "over the door shoe holder" thingy... and it works PERFECTLY! Thought I'd share w/ you. And the BEST part is it only cost $5.99 at Target!!

And then, earlier this week I found this great button organizer... the top has a flip lid that swivels around so you can just turn it & then pour out your desired color.. Pretty cool! I found it at JoAnn's for $9.99, a little expensive for a button holder, but you know I used my coupon LOL :)

So my Mom LOVES to sew & she also loves to bowl... so I made these for her, to put up in her craft room. I realized after I had already sent them to her that there is not a reference point in the photo, so you can't tell how big they are. They were about 10"x6" or so... I am not sure, but they were pretty good size, & tons of fun to make!

So as many of you know, I recently discovered the work of Kristina Werner (http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog) - sorry I haven't quite figured out the "link" option yet... I'm working on it.
Anyhow, I really love the work she does as you have all heard me talking about non-stop lately! So on her blog (you really must check it out) she posted a "challenge" to create a card based on a decorated room from HGTV.com that she found, and you must use these colors in your card, or project...

So here is my card~

So if you read my last post, you know I was pretty annoyed by the "onesie & duck" issue, well of course AFTER I made the card.... I found the stamp set that was used on the card I was inspired by.... and guess who makes it... STAMPIN UP of course!! they make all the cute ones!

So I was so frustrated once I saw that these items were together in a cute little set, I just had to spread the word. From what I can see they are part of the "Occasions" mini catalog

Ok, for those of you who know me & my shopping "addiction" (the first step is admitting it) I have to just "vent" a little...

Attached is my recreation of a card I saw online on one of my "frequented" blogs I visit Paper Pleasing Ideas & I just fell in love with it, so I had to try to make one myself- and I just want to say that you can NEVER have enough supplies as I found out last night! I have four, literally 4 sets of baby stamps and all I needed was a rubber duck & a one-sie (spelling?)and of course I didn't have what I needed, so now I am on a mission to find a one-sie & a rubber duck stamp!! Ahhhhh how very frustrating!

Ok here's the card... let me know what you think. I did the best with what I had (1943 style one-sie & a Gynormous rubber duck)

Over the past few years I have really been very fortunate... I have made some of the greatest friends I have ever had. Since we all get wrapped up in our own lives and time gets away from us, we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like... so I am making this page my kind of "link" to my scrapbooking buddies.... since we all know it is sad but true, we are ALL on the computer every now & then, and a quick click to link us to each other can be both fun & helpful.

Since I don't have kids, I know I won't have very much "family stuff" to post on here... but I do have a cat.. so I'll be sure to post her picture so she can be "famous" for a minute... anyhow I'll probably use this as my place to share with everyone projects I have been working on.. etc. Please feel free to share your comments with me, I would love to hear them..
And you know I am always out to find the best "deals" so I will be sure to let you all know about those as well. :)
